The mission of an individual or organization has to do with their contribution to manifesting a particular vision. The word comes from the Latin missio, which means "the act of sending." In fact, mission is defined in the dictionary as "an important assignment carried out for political, religious, or commercial purposes." Mission is the unique gift and contribution that you bring to the table as you set on your journey to realize your vision. The mission of individual within an organization has to do with his or her contribution to that organization and its vision. Similarly, an organization’s mission will be with respect to the larger system of its customers and their needs.
